Closing exhibition: challenging (un)familiar terrain – Artistic Research at HfBK Dresden

Dresden

Presentation of the results of the EU4ART_differences LABS
Weiße Gasse 8 • 01067 Dresden, Germany

As part of the pilot project EU4ART_differences, a so-called “Artistic Research LAB” has been established at the HfBK Dresden since October 2022. Within the framework of a total of six block weeks, a diverse program gave the participants the opportunity to gain insights into artistic research and to implement initial findings in their own projects.

In addition to workshops for further qualification and an intensive introduction to scientific work as a counterpart to artistic practice, different approaches and thematic focuses of the individual artistic-research projects could be discussed in joint international colloquia with other participants of the LABs of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts (Budapest), the Art Academy of Latvia (Riga) and the Art Academy of Rome (Rome). The program was accompanied by lectures and workshops by and with international speakers, who from different disciplines and cultural backgrounds illuminated the broad field of artistic research for the university public.

As part of the cross-alliance event “A.re Days” from September 27-29, 2023 with an intensive virtual program, but also workshops and lectures on site in Rome, Riga and Budapest, the LAB at the HfBK Dresden will present the project results in a public event with presentations and an exhibition. On Friday, 29.09.2023,  the Dresden LAB participants will present their artistic research work in the gallery Weisse Gasse 8, 01067 Dresden. This will be followed by the opening of the exhibition, which will be on display until October 8 from 12 – 5 pm.
